Advent- Why did Jesus come?
Series Description
“Advent” literally means “coming,” the season when churches all over the world celebrate the coming of Jesus. For some, this is a joyful season spent with friends and family remembering what’s really important. For others, it’s just “Christmas” - parties, frantic mall trips, ugly sweaters, loneliness, cardboard fruitcake, credit card debt, and noisy arguments over whether Target should say “Merry Christmas or “Happy Holidays.”
In this series, we’ll see how advent can directly impact the very core of who we are. Do you suffer from loneliness? Jesus came to show us that we are not alone; he is Emmanuel - God with us! Are you fine and happy with life as is? You shouldn’t be; Jesus came to establish a kingdom that radically overturns everything we instinctively value.
