“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” – God (Jeremiah 29:7)

All Fellowship Denver folks are encouraged to serve the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of our fellow Denver citizens.
Finding your focus is highly encouraged. Many people skim the surface of social causes, fluttering from one event or fundraiser to another. While this can be helpful for raising awareness and getting to know the pressing issues, we hope it leads to sustained, intelligent, passionate investment.
So you’re encouraged to find an area where you have talent and energy to invest. And we give you permission to focus there.

Here are a few of the local agencies Fellowship Denver people are working with. We love these groups because they minister to the whole person (physical, spiritual, emotional) and have a track record of effectiveness.

Denver Rescue Mission

The Rescue Mission is Denver’s leading agency helping people in poverty, especially the homeless and those trying to overcome homelessness. We are fortunate to have church members who have personally benefitted from the Rescue Mission’s services and are now contributing, healthy members of our community. Service opportunities include: serving meals at the shelter, childcare and youth programs, tutoring adults, and mentoring people transitioning from homelessness.

Save Our Youth

Save our Youth recruits and trains mentors for at-risk youth. For many of these kids, graduating high school will be the biggest factor in whether or not they escape poverty. Personal mentoring gives them a much greater chance of success. Save our Youth provides front-end training for mentors, matches them with a student, and supports the ongoing relationship.

Street’s Hope

Street’s Hope assists women who desire to leave sexually oriented businesses such as prostitution, escort services, exotic dancing, and pornography. Their goal is to help each woman they serve become self-sustaining apart from the sex-for-sale industry and to become an active part of a healthy community. Service opportunities include volunteering at events and personally mentoring women who are making this transition.
