Local and Global Missions

Fellowship Denver Church desires to help people discover and follow the original Jesus. A large part of that is accomplished through the regular ministries within the church (teaching, worship, community, family, and children’s ministries, etc). However, the church also intentionally invests in partnerships serving people on both a local and global level. Each year, we allocate approximately 10% of the church’s annual budget to ministry through partnerships with several organizations, churches, and ministry workers throughout Denver, the metro area, and internationally that serve and share the Gospel with their local communities.

Global Missions Partners

Our global missions partners are dedicated to proclaiming the gospel in communities around the world.

Whether through planting churches, providing education, or sending missionaries to unreached people, our goal is to help people discover and follow the original Jesus. Here are some of our key global missions partners:

Acts 29 Europe

Acts 29 Europe exists to facilitate and catalyze church-planting efforts across the continent. There are currently 83 churches (partners and candidates).

Young Life

Alyssa, an FDC member, serves on Young Life’s Foundation Engagement Team, which focuses on developing and sustaining high-impact relationships with charitable organizations to fuel the work of Young Life worldwide. Young Life’s mission since 1941 is to introduce teenagers to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. The ministry currently operates in 112 countries and impacts nearly three million young people.

Igles de la Montagne

France presents a unique challenge for evangelism, with less than 5% of the population attending church on Sundays and only 1% identifying as evangelical. In the 5th arrondissement, there is an even greater need: a lack of gospel-centered churches serving the area despite its rich educational environment, home to prestigious institutions, and a vibrant student population of over 80,000.

Igles de la Montagne aims to engage this student population, believing it is a strategic moment to introduce many young people to the gospel. They have laid the groundwork by building relationships, gathering a core team, and hosting small events to connect with locals.

OMF

James and Lisa, members of FDC, serve as President and Co-National Directors of OMF in the U.S. OMF is a global fellowship of thousands of Christians focused on sharing Jesus with East Asian peoples. After serving in East Asia for many years, James and Lisa Dougherty now live in Denver, Colorado and partner with churches to mobilize, send, and support missionaries in sharing the good news. James serves at FDC as a Global Missions Deacon.

Fellowship Associates

Fellowship Associates is a year-long training residency for pastors who are planting churches. It allows entrepreneurial leaders who know they’ve been called to the directional leadership of a new church plant to take their first steps toward doing so while being coached and encouraged every step of the way. We support FA because we believe in the work they do and one of our founding pastors, Hunter Beaumont, participated in the residency before planting Fellowship Denver Church.

GO on the Mission

Our congregants have the opportunity to sponsor students at John Huffman School in Thies, Senegal, which helps children break the cycle of poverty by providing a great education that sets them up for a life of good work and self-sufficiency. GO on the Mission is our connecting agency that coordinates sponsorships and trips to Senegal.

Clare Hickey

Clare, a member of FDC, moved to West Africa in April of 2023. She has partnered with the existing team there to launch a new area of ministry focused on working with individuals with disabilities and their families. She hopes to see God use her to empower individuals with special needs to have an impact for the gospel in a unique way, as well as support and equip families and communities to care well for this population of image-bearers.

India Church Plant

Our church supports a church plant in Mumbai, which is thriving and bringing the Gospel to a challenging urban landscape in India. Through your prayers and giving, we’ve helped them grow disciples, celebrate baptisms, and expand community groups, all while facing significant cultural and political challenges. Local Missions Partners

“Seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” – Jeremiah 29:7

Our Serve Denver initiative is dedicated to making a tangible impact in our local community. We believe in the power of local engagement and the importance of being the hands and feet of Jesus right here in Denver. Here are some of our local missions partners.

CrossPurpose

CrossPurpose is a community-building and career training non-profit that helps lift folks out of poverty. Our church has the opportunity to go through the program as a Leader, serve as an Ally (Mentor), help with mock interviews and more.

Save Our Youth

Save Our Youth helps the church mentor at-risk youth. There’s a huge gap in our city between children who desire mentors and people willing to mentor. Save Our Youth helps fill this gap! We invite FDC congregants to mentor these kids, which enriches the life of the mentor and mentee. We also partner with SOY each July to provide backpacks & school supplies for their mentees.

Safe Families for Children

Safe Families is a faith-based non-profit that mobilizes churches to advocate for vulnerable children and socially isolated families throughout our city. When you volunteer with Safe Families, you create an opportunity where children can be safe and families remain unified.

Denver Institute for Faith and Work

Denver Institute prepares people to serve God and others in their daily work so that workplaces and cities are transformed. They host life-giving events like Women, Work & Calling and Business for the Common Good. They offer groups and programs such as the 5280 Fellowship and Peer Learning Groups.

Hope in Our City

Hope in Our City empowers families through education and mentorship. Their vision is for families and individuals to experience the hope and freedom found in Christ and to utilize their God-given talents to be self-sufficient, confident members of society.

Open Door Ministries

ODM has served the city of Denver since 1984. Their mission is to address poverty, build communities, and cultivate followers of Christ in Denver. Individual and group volunteer opportunities are available.

The Cell Church

The Cell Church is a Colorado prison ministry founded and led by Mark Walker, an FDC member. They are committed to identifying, discipling, mentoring, educating, and supporting current and former prisoners.
